Students Visa
I. Order of admission
The procedure for admission of foreign citizens who need a visa to enter the Russian Federation has a number of features:
- Foreign students who have completed the preparatory courses can enter the Samara State Medical University in a general manner, having arrived in Samara with a valid visa.
- After completing the procedure for passing the entrance exams and in case of admission to Samara State Medical University, the student writes an application addressed to the rector of Samara State Medical University with a request for an invitation and is obliged to leave the territory of the Russian Federation to issue an invitation and a single study visa (for a period of 90 days).
- After receiving a single entry visa, the student has the right to enter the Russian Federation.
- Upon arrival in Russia, students must contact the Department of International Relations of the Samara State Medical University (Samara, Chapaevskaya St., 89, 4th floor) within 3 working days and have the following documents with them:

- Passport with a valid visa (original and copy);
- Migration card (original and copy).
II. Registration and extension of a multiple-entry visa
Foreign visa students studying at Samara State Medical University in the second and subsequent years to extend the validity of a multiple-entry visa must apply to the Department of International Relations no later than 30 working days before the expiration of the visa.
You must have the following documents with you:
- Passport with a valid visa (original and copy);
- Migration card (original and copy);
- Registration (original and copy);
- Contract for training at Samara State Medical University (copy);
- Certificate of study from the dean’s office;
- 2 photos (3×4, matte);
- Receipt of payment of state duty.
If there is a valid reason (illness, loss of a document proving the identity of a foreign citizen, the validity of a visa upon entry into the Russian Federation is less than the period provided for its extension), documented , documents for extending the validity of a visa must be submitted no later than 10 days before its expiration date.

III. Changes in migration registration
Students must inform the Department of International Relations of the Samara State Medical University in advance about the following changes:
- Change of residential address;
- Change of location (travel to another city/country);
- Renewal or replacement of a passport.
Attention! After crossing the border when leaving the territory of the Russian Federation, the current registration is canceled. Therefore, when entering back into the territory of the Russian Federation, students are required to appear at the Department of International Relations of the Samara State Medical University with the appropriate set of documents to obtain a new registration.
If a student has received a temporary residence permit, residence permit or citizenship of the Russian Federation, he must notify the Department of International Relations of the Samara State Medical University within 24 hours by providing a copy of the document confirming the above statuses, as well as a certificate from the competent authority confirming the date of obtaining the corresponding status.
IV. Termination of studies of visa foreign students
Upon termination of studies (regardless of the reason), a foreign student is obliged to immediately notify the Department of International Relations of the Samara State Medical University.
In the event that a foreign student stops studying at his own request, or for any other reason (except for successful completion of studies), in accordance with Russian law, the student must apply for a transit visa to leave the territory of the Russian Federation (the processing time is no more than 20 working days).
To apply for a transit visa, you must submit the following documents:
- Passport with a valid visa (original and copy);
- Migration card (original and copy);
- Registration (original and copy);
- 1 photo (3×4, matte);
- Receipt of payment of the state fee – 1000 rubles;
- Copy of exit tickets*.
* A foreign student is obliged to coordinate the date of departure from the Russian Federation with the Department of International Relations of the Samara State Medical University and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Samara Region.
Attention! A foreign student will be considered expelled only after he receives a transit visa and leaves the territory of Russia.
